Adventures to Astound

Our first original Game is Adventures to Astound, a completely Classless Table Top RPG. Our unique character creation/progression system

 

 

Origins

Real heroes are built upon the person beneath the cowl with personal conflict often being as much or more of the story than the action is. Because of this we designed a character creating system to start with the Origins section before the player gets to move onto choosing their character’s powers and abilities. Your character’s origins will be chosen with a combination of player’s choice and die rolls, and it will all be rounded out with a player written background to connect all the chosen and decided attributes from the Origin process.

 
 

Locations

A dice roll will decide where your character is from and where they may live and/or operate as a hero/adventurer. The 26 location possibilities for your character to be born range from the crime infested cities of Earth, to distant planets and alternate dimensions. Characters will do their first several missions and cases from the comfort of the planet Earth, however as the characters progress they will find themselves venturing to places unknown.

Species

After a character’s location of Origin has been decided the player will choose one of 23 Species for their character. Each Species has its own attributes and unique physiology to create a multitude of different game play possibilities. The species you choose may effect how your character lives and even which abilities are available to them.

 

Occupations

Characters will need a job with which they can afford their adventuring. Some Occupations will be ordinary 9-5 jobs like: Teacher; Dental Hygienist, or a Barista, while others like: Thief: Mercenary; or Private Investigator, will go hand in hand with a character’s hero work. Occupations not only give characters income, but they also provide characters with different Perks and Set-Backs that will impact gameplay and character progression.

Headquarters

After your occupation is chosen, you’ll be able to choose the Headquarters your character operates out of. Will your gadgets rest in the many display cases of your secret, yet spacious, Theatrical Cave? or will you be forced to hide your gear/costume and magical artifacts in your Mom’s basement.

 
 

Tragedies

The best heroes rise up out of adversity and terrible accidents to become better than they once were. Give your character that depth with this completely optional section of character creation. Each Tragedy will give the character extra Experience to spend on abilities, however they may also be psychologically effected by the traumas. The option is yours and once it is made it can not be unmade
